Olokiki Oru – Synopsis

AYERO (Ibrahim Chatta) is a fearless armed robber who was tricked into robbing a town no man alive can rob, Asinde, by his gang who are dying to have the bootie from the night’s raid to themselves.  He is killed and buried.

For many years, AKALA (Saheed Osupa) has been a dreaded armed robber who have been plundering towns except his own, Ayegbami, because he had made a pact to not rob inside his town as long as the KING(Taiwo Hassan) give his word that his dazzling and irresistibly articulate daughter, IYUNADE(Tobiloba Ojerinde), would be his whenever he is ready to have a wife.

On the night when Ayero was interred, thunder screams in the heavens and he came out of the ground alive.  When he got back to his HERBALIST(Fatai Oodua), he took him to the witches who revealed that they are responsible for his death, because he calls himself the immovable man who knocks the witch’s child on the head from the confidence in his voodoo.  In the end, they fortify Ayero and named him ‘Olokiki Oru (the Midnight Sensation).’

During one of his many exploits, Ayero takes Iyunade from the Palace on the eve of her wedding to Akala whom she wouldn’t have married if the decision was hers to make.  But Akala won’t let the same man, who have been robbing the towns he intends to rob before he gets there, take his woman.

Deadly series of conflict ensues as Ayero refuses to let go of Iyunade, the woman who had decided to stay with him and have begun to change his life, and neither does Akala want him to win at this one too.
